After doing a lot of research on which balls to buy, we decided to go with the One World Futbol. If you haven’t heard about them, these balls, which were invented in 2010, are the most durable balls in the world. They are made from a special foam, similar to the material used to make Crocs shoes. They don’t deflate or pop, even after they are run over by a car or punctured with a knife, so they last a lot longer than regular balls. There is no need for pumps and needles.
A lot of research went into making these balls nearly indestructible but also like a regular futbol. They have a lower bounce so that they can be used on dirt patches, rocky landscapes and city streets as well as on grass and turf fields.
The balls cost a lot more than a regular ball but we think they are worth it because regular balls last less than four months when they are played in the types of tough conditions that exist in Ethiopia.
